A note on the brand's history: Zenith

Brand history — Zenith

Founded in Le Locle in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot, Zenith established a reputation for precision and manufacture movements. Introduced in 1969, the El Primero was among the first integrated automatic chronograph movements, operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour. An important episode in its history came during the quartz crisis, when watchmaker Charles Vermot secretly preserved production plans and tools, playing a decisive role in the calibre's survival.
