A note on the brand's history: Tissot

Founded in Le Locle in 1853, Tissot helped broaden the reach of Swiss watchmaking. From the 1930s onward, its antimagnetic watches addressed the effect of magnetic fields on mechanical movements.

Brand history — Tissot

Founded in Le Locle in 1853, Tissot played an important role in bringing Swiss watchmaking to a broad audience. Its historic range includes both elegant dress watches and sporting models such as the Seastar. From the 1930s, Tissot offered antimagnetic watches to address a practical problem: everyday magnetic fields could disturb the regulating components of mechanical movements.
