Originating from the watchmaking firm established by the Lévy brothers in Biel/Bienne at the end of the nineteenth century, Pierce became known for technical independence and occasionally unconventional ideas. Its historical models include chronographs with unusual coupling mechanisms. Some so-called mystery dials appear to have floating hands, an illusion created by rotating discs and concealed components rather than any watchmaking magic.
