About Le Phare

Le Phare's roots go back to Guye & Barbezat, established in Le Locle in 1867. The company became known for complicated pocket watches, including striking mechanisms.

Le Phare grew out of Guye & Barbezat, founded in Le Locle in 1867. The firm specialised in complicated pocket watches, including repeaters that chimed the time. An 1889 patent addressed the mechanism controlling the striking speed, with the aim of making it quieter so that the chimes could be heard more clearly.
