Brand history — Heuer / TAG Heuer
Founded in 1860 by Édouard Heuer, the company has long been associated with measuring short intervals and motor racing. In 1887, it refined the oscillating pinion, a device simplifying chronograph engagement that remains in use today. Long before adopting the TAG Heuer name in 1985, Heuer produced dashboard timers and instruments for pilots and navigators. Vintage Heuer chronographs belong to that earlier history.
