Brand history — Chanel
Although Chanel emerged from fashion, its watchmaking story truly began in 1987 with the Première. Its octagonal case draws on two house symbols: the stopper of Chanel No. 5 perfume and the geometry of Place Vendôme in Paris. The Première was conceived as a watch with an identity of its own, rather than simply a smaller, feminine version of a men's model.
