Brand history — Cartier

Founded in Paris in 1847, Cartier became one of the great names in the history of the elegant wristwatch. In 1904, Louis Cartier created a watch for aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont so that he could read the time in flight without taking out a pocket watch. A few years later, the Tank appeared, with geometric lines that became a landmark in watch design.
