Brand history — Baume & Mercier
The history of Baume & Mercier dates to 1830, when Louis Joseph Baume established a watchmaking business in the Swiss Jura. The company subsequently expanded internationally and made case design a distinctive signature. In 1973, the Riviera introduced a bold twelve-sided case designed by Jean-Claude Gueit, departing from conventional round dress watches.
